Intensive English

These programs are for people aged 14 and above. Students usually come from countries in Asia, though there are also some students from other parts of the world.

The programs allow for maximum progress during your stay in Singapore and are highly recommended for students who want to learn a language for academic or professional reasons. Our highly structured syllabus will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the minimum amount of time.

	Total 16 levels: Each Level One Month
	Monday to Friday, 3 hours per day

Methodology
We believe that you learn English best by using it. This means that you will spend a lot of time practicing and speaking with other students. Our teachers will listen to you, correct your mistakes, build your confidence, and give you advice on how you can improve. They will also show you ways to practice your English outside the classroom so that you can progress quickly.


Placement Test
You will take a placement test and have an interview with the academic coordinator during your enrolment. Based on your placement test we will recommend a starting level for you.

Course Assessment
We monitor your improvement at all times and there is a final test at the end of each level. Your teacher will advise you on your progress during the course. If your course work, attendance and test results are all satisfactory, you can progress to the next level.

	*The Application Fee is inclusive of S$300 school sponsorship fee. We shall refund the sponsorship fee paid if the student's pass application to ICA is unsuccessful.

IELTS Preparation Program

IELTS, the test of real English communicative ability, will ensure that you have the right level of English ability for your needs.

SHINES IELTS Preparation Program provides valuable assistance in preparing for the IELTS Test. The program is designed and taught by qualified and IELTS experts with years of experience of preparing students for this challenging and demanding test.

The program objectives are to develop and practice the language and skills necessary to perform well in the IELTS exam. It includes work on the essential skills of English - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. These are lively, interactive courses. Pair work and group work are used to develop students' communication skills. Specially prepared study packs help students develop their general knowledge. Students also prepare for the exam through practice tests under exam conditions.

LOW BAND PROGRAM
The program is suitable for students who may score band 5 - 5.5.
To join, students must have passed the Intermediate level on the diagnostic test or successfully complete the Intermediate Level of SHINES Intensive English Program.

HIGH BAND PROGRAM
The program is suitable for students who may score band 6.
To join, students who have completed the Preparatory course must have attained at least 5.0 on the actual IELTS test or on an in-class practice test.

Before you can register for the IELTS Preparation Program, you must have an interview with one of our teachers. This language consultation is free and involves a written diagnostic test and a discussion with the teacher who will assess your language ability before recommending the best course for you.

CLASS SCHEDULE
Full-time Program	Mon-Fri: 3 hours per day
	Total 60 hours per month (4 weeks)

Part-time Program	Twice per week: 2 ½ hours per day
	Total 60 hours per 3 months (12 weeks)

Tuition Fees (subject to prevailing GST)
	Full-time Program	S$ 720 per month (60 hours)
	Full payment of 6 months	S$ 3,900
	Full payment of 12 months	S$ 7,000
	Part-time Program	S$ 850 per 3 months ( 60 hours)

All tuition fees are not inclusive of textbooks, materials and misc. fees. The above fees also do not include the exam fee of about S$ 300 payable to the British Council or IDP Australia.
